Dental Health is Important!

We have been learning about dental health and the proper way to care for our teeth! We have made models of our mouths portraying all of our "baby" teeth and we are all looking forward to the eventual appearance of our permanent teeth.
We also discussed the fact that not EVERYONE loses teeth at the same time. Some of our friends have already lost multiple teeth and others are still waiting for that magic moment to happen...each person is unique!

We practiced flossing on "teeth" (egg cartons) and learned a song to sing while we flossed. Ask your child to share it with you! We made hippo puppets and filled their mouths with "teeth" (marshmallows). We loved putting on puppet shows with our toothy hippos and sharing what we had learned about dental health. We also made big smiles and wrote about what makes us smile. We are now anxiously awaiting the visit from the dental hygienist in a few weeks so we can show off all the new information we have learned! Happy Brushing (and flossing!)
